The brain mold is a specialized tool for preparing brain tissue sections. Its unique contour-mimicking design enables stable fixation of brain specimens. Through standardized blade edges, it ensures consistent size, shape, and position of sections, thereby improving the reproducibility and precision of experiments.
Meyue Bio's animal brain mold is made of high-quality stainless steel. It features rapid heating and cooling properties, and supports autoclaving and alcohol immersion sterilization. With excellent durability, it can ensure consistent quality of sections even after repeated use.
Common Sectioning Methods
There are two common sectioning formats for brain section molds:
- Sagittal Section: A longitudinal section parallel to the brain's midline, also referred to as the "coronal section" in some contexts.
- Coronal Section: A transverse section perpendicular to the brain's midline, also referred to as the "sagittal section" in some contexts.
- Section Thickness: Standard thickness options are 1mm and 0.5mm. For larger animals (such as monkeys, beagles, rabbits, etc.), a 2mm section thickness is commonly used.
